visual artist + theatrical artist

Alissa Branch is a visual and theatrical artist whose work straddles the boundary between the ephemeral and the grounded, the spoken and the seen. Drawing from the worlds of performance, literature, and domestic memory, Alissa creates layered, acrylic mixed media compositions embedded with scraps of song, passages from Shakespeare, newsprint, vintage book pages, and ladies' dress patterns, inviting the viewer to reconsider the stories we inherit, the roles we play, and the myths we carry.

travel with alissa!

In addition to participating in Tim Grimm's magical yearly tours of Scotland (Scotland Folk Tours) and Ireland (Inishfree Irish Music Tours), in 2026 Alissa will be leading two one-week tours of Shakespeare's England for the company The Great Courses Journeys. As the tour's resident Shakespeare Expert, Alissa will provide lecture-performances, a workshop about the ways actors approach Shakespeare's verse, and theatrical commentary as we visit dreamy bard-related sites in London and Stratford-Upon-Avon and see plays performed at theatres like Shakespeare's Globe and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
